Black Austin Tours

East Austin is hosting a number of tours in May and June! Check out the following dates to see the different tours they’re offering over the next month or so and register for them here:

June 19: Special Juneteenth Roll Colorado Roll Kayaking Tour at 10 am

June 21: Roll Colorado Roll Kayaking Tour at 5pm

Buda Juneteenth CommUNITY Celebration

The Buda Juneteenth Committee and the City of Buda encourage the entire Buda area community to join their Juneteenth Celebration at Buda City Park Pavilion from 10am to 2pm on Saturday, June 17! They will also be hosting two screenings of the Juneteenth Faith & Freedom Trailer.

1. Buda United Methodist Church 302 Elm Street Buda, TX. Friday, May 26th at 6 p.m.
2. Buda Public Libray hosts in the Buda Municipal Complex Multi-purpose Room. Saturday, June 10th at 6 p.m.
Please bring 2 canned goods or nonperishable items for the Hay County Food Bank.

Uniting Voices: the National Juneteenth Museum Speaker Series

The National Juneteenth Museum will hold a lecture and discussion that will take place on Thursday, June 15th at 7pm. at I.M. Terrell Academy for STEM and Visual Performing Arts in Fort Worth, Texas.

2023 Juneteenth 4k Walk & Festival

The Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center will hold a 4k walk, live performance by Arinze Oji, aerobic & dance warmup by Bria Washington, and open-air market on Saturday, June 17 from 8:30am to 1:00pm!

Central Texas Juneteenth Park Celebration 

The Central Texas Juneteenth Committee will hold a festival & parade from 9:30am to 9pm on June 17 in Austin, Texas! There are still opportunities to register to participate in the parade or as a volunteer!

Houston Museum of African American Culture Juneteenth Market 

This cultural shopping event will feature the Culture Shoppe and a variety of local vendors throughout the day! Vendors can still register here.

Juneteenth Festival in Downtown Killeen 

A variety of events will be held, including a 5K run/walk, a cook-off, performers, vendors, and food trucks! Learn more and register to volunteer in any of these events here.

San Antonio Juneteenth Block Party & Fair 

Join the City of Antonio in this third annual block party celebration! Their mission “is to help close the health, wealth and education gap in the African American Community by providing access to resources and opportunities.”
