Community History: I just thought I’d put Bear Creek in my hometown of Irving, TX on your radar. The City of Irving is currently trying to piece together many of the same records around this time; I am certain the Jackie Townsell Center could be of use. Little to nothing of the original settlement still exists as far as I know; sold out to land developers in the late 70’s as Irving and Dallas grew around it. Most of what’s preserved make up the museum and preservation aspect of what’s left. I didn’t see it on the map, and I’m not a descendant; but I’ve enjoyed learning about this community I never learned about in an Irving school and would love to see it listed alongside other settlements.
