Community History: In 1875, Bob and Almeady Chisum Jones, both born into slavery, married and established a home in the Eastern Cross Timbers along the Denton-Tarrant line. They had 10 children, most of whom built homes nearby and were part of what was called the Jones community. Their story is told on www.southlakehistory.org, Bob and Almeady Chisum Jones.
