Community History: Thomas Lister was the son of a plantation owner. It is believed that his father left him over 700 acres in what is today Ennis, Texas. He was married to Caroline Stark Lister. They had a family to whom they left the land. Their son lived on the land for several years as well. Several generations of Listers lived on the land. I am not aware of Listers that live in that area today. My 98 year old grandmother is a descendant of Thomas and Caroline Lister as am I.
