Community History: The Old Spring Seat Baptist Church was destroyed by arson on February 6, 1999 according to the National Church Arson Task Force, Fourth Year Report to the President (2000). The report states that it was an African American church. Adjacent to the church site is Old Spring Seat Cemetery.
