Public History: azro was a predominantly black community near Tehuacana in northern Limestone County. It was probably established soon after the Civil War, but the absence of school and church records suggests that most residents had either dispersed by the early twentieth century or had become dependent on nearby communities for worship and education. Local information indicated that the community consisted of three or four shacks in the 1940s, but Nazro was not named on county highway maps of the time.
